Thank you to everyone who has shared the positive impact our staff members have had on your children. When sharing these with our staff members, there is are a lot of emotions that come up. One of the most common is surprised. Staff are working hard every day making a difference and that positive impact is not always communication. When it finally is, staff are surprised on how some of the smallest gestures can have the biggest effect. Please continue to share your perspectives on how our staff is making a difference in the lives of our future leaders.

It was a great day for FHS students during the 8th Grade Courage Retreat today. The event was put on by Youth Frontiers. The purpose of the event is to empower kids to be themselves and take positive risks that make a healthy difference for themselves, their peers and their school. Seniors were also leaders today and did a great job helping make the day special for our 8th Graders.
Be a part of the Senior Night celebration as the Fairmont Cardinals take on the Marshall Tigers at 7:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 4. Thank you to Hawkins Chevrolet for sponsoring this week's Tailgate Party!
The past few days FHS Orchestra has been hosting an improv residency from the OK Factor. It's been really cool to hear their tips and see the 11-12th graders try something new!
Cardinal's Give Back Applications Needed by Oct. 7th
Fairmont Jr./Sr. High School is seeking service project opportunities for our “Cardinals Give Back Day” on Oct. 25th (rain date is Nov. 1st). In appreciation for the continued support by the Fairmont community, students in grades 7-12 will be working on projects to help others in our community. In the past, our student groups have worked for individual residents on a wide range of projects. These projects include, yardwork, landscaping, garage and/or basement cleanout, window washing, gutter cleaning, basic home improvements and other home related projects. Other student groups have helped local businesses and organizations by cleaning the downtown area, city park needs, visiting and performing at nursing homes, working with the Humane Society and helping local businesses with spring cleaning needs.
All applications are due by Monday Oct. 7th. Please contact Principal Brusky if you have any questions about the service project day by emailing him at cbrusky@fairmont.k12.mn.us or by calling the office at (507)238-4411. We are thankful for all the support the community has provided the school in the past. We hope our “Cardinals Give Back Day” provides you with the same pride in your local schools and serves as a model of the positive things we are able to accomplish when we work together.
