The Minnesota Department of Health recommends that all school-age youth returning to school, sports, or extracurricular activities, and their families, get tested for COVID-19 every two weeks through the end of the school year.
Testing, plus wearing masks and taking other precautions, such as social distancing and staying home (quarantining) when needed, are some of the best tools we have to prevent the spread of COVID-19. By getting tested every two weeks from now until the end of the school year, we can help keep schools open and sports operating, and ensure we are limiting the spread of COVID-19. Anyone could have COVID-19 and not know it. Getting tested regularly is the best way to know you are still healthy.
For testing locations: https://mn.gov/covid19/get-tested/testing-locations/index.jsp
If you have at-home saliva testing kits through Vault - we can submit those completed tests with our staff saliva tests which is through UPS every other Thursday (3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20, 6/3). UPS pick-up is 3pm at Fairmont Elementary School so your sample would need to be there before 3pm.
Here is how to Order an at-home test at no cost: Vault: No-Cost COVID Testing For All Minnesotans
