Over 40 6th, 7th, & 8th graders participated in the Battle of the Books competition on Monday, April 29th.
Students spent the winter and early spring reading a variety of books and genres and formed teams to help with their chances to win the top prize at the competition!
After 4 rounds of competition… the winning team was: Team 3 from Ms. Emler’s 6th grade class! Congratulation Girls!

On Monday, April 29th, 2024, students from Fairmont Junior Senior High's CTE program seized the opportunity to participate in a Career Navigator event hosted at South Central College in Mankato. Forty-four students delved into hands-on experiences and gained insights into various careers.
In the Auto Collision/Repair segment, students were instructed in estimating, frame straightening, and paint gun operation. The Agriculture Diesel session illuminated electrical circuits, hydraulics, and hydraulic controls. Machine Tool Trades showcased CNC operations, emphasized the significance of blueprint reading, and discussed tolerances. HVAC professionals engaged students on basic electrical principles and employment-relevant skills, complemented by a tour of their lab space showcasing HVAC and refrigeration systems. Finally, in the Welding segment, students toured the shop space, learned TIG techniques, and honed their skills using Virtual Simulators.
Throughout the event, students were consistently reminded of key factors contributing to success in both college and employment. These included the paramount importance of attendance and punctuality, as well as the development of soft skills such as teamwork, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.







FHS Art Students participated in the 15th Annual Area High School Student Art Show last week at the Red Rock Center for the Arts. The art was on display April 16th-25th, showcasing the artistic talents of high school students from BEA, Fairmont, GHEC, MCW, MLHS, North Union, and Truman.
11 FHS students participated : Ash Maday, Makenna Anderson, Allyssa Alera, Breanna Groskreutz, Janea Prafke, Alexa Alera, Cheyenne Abel, Carys Gudahl, Aaron Graplar, Morgan Ehlers, and Alex Ogden.

Another successful prom! Thank you to all who have helped organize, volunteered, etc. for this event. We could not have done it without all of you. Mrs. Chambers and the Prom Committee made it a wonderful night for all!

FHS hosted the Mock Crash this year for 10th-12th grade students and staff today April 25th. We would like to thank all the local first responders and funeral home for taking the time out of their busy day to provide this educational opportunity for our students. We greatly appreciate all the work that was put into this event.

Fairmont advances 14 individuals to state speech!!!
Fairmont was the Section 2A Champion team with 158 points. Loyola was the Section 2A Runner-up with 76 points.
20 Fairmont speakers earned Section Final medals in their individual categories.
Fairmont had SEVEN INDIVIDUAL SECTION CHAMPIONS!!!!
