SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Substitute teachers for Fairmont Area Schools are employed through Teachers On Call (TOC). TOC recruits substitute teachers year-round. Individuals who hold a bachelor's degree in any field may serve as a substitute teacher by applying for a Short Call Substitute Teaching license. This process is not a difficult one and a license can generally be obtained in 3-4 weeks.
Fairmont Area Schools rate of pay for substitute teaching is $165/day. In addition, substitute teachers receive an ID badge allowing them free admission to all Fairmont Area Schools regular-season home athletic events. If an individual subs for the district for more than 6 days in a month, on their 7th time subbing that month, the rate increases to $180/day and on the 13th day the rate increases to $200/day

SUBSTITUTE PARAPROFESSIONAL
Substitute paraprofessionals are employed through Teachers On Call (TOC). TOC recruits paraprofessionals year round.
Fairmont Area Schools rate of pay for a substitute paraprofessional is $16.50/hour with a minimum rate of $66.00 for 4 hours or less. In addition, substitute paraprofessionals receive an ID badge allowing them free admission to all Fairmont Area Schools regular season home athletic events.
