About Me:

I am one of the lucky preschool teachers here in Discovery Place Preschool at Fairmont Elementary! I grew up on a dairy farm in Glencoe, MN and attended South Dakota State University, Brookings where I received a degree in Animal Science with Pre-Veterinary Medicine requirements. My husband, Andrew and I, relocated to the East Chain area. My husband farms and is the Director of Research & Development at Weigh-Tronix. We have 5 boys- Higgins, Gavin, Gunnar, Xander, and Vincent and love keeping up with all their passions - hockey, football, baseball, 4-H, and many animals!

You're probably wondering how I became a preschool teacher with an Animal Science degree. After years of being a parent in ECFE, a volunteer for the Parent Advisory Board, a substitute for Early Childhood classes and Discovery Place Preschool and an ECFE teacher, I couldn't deny my passion for Early Childhood Education any longer. I completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University and started teaching in 2023. I also teach ECFE classes throughout the week. I am looking forward to building a safe and loving community in my classroom where all students can learn. I believe in the work that goes on in the classroom and the impact that teachers can have.
