About Me: Hi there! My name is Miss Derfus! This is be my 4th year teaching 5th grade at Fairmont Elementary. I am originally from Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth Area in 2012. I went on to earn my Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence Degree with a Mathematics Minor at University of Wisconsin - La Crosse where I graduated Fall of 2015. I am currently going for my Master's in TESOL through St. Cloud State University and will graduate this coming May.

A little more about me: I am the youngest of three; I have an older sister and brother. Both of my siblings are married, and my sister and her husband have two little girls and a boy with one on the way! My brother and his wife had a baby girl this past December! I am a person that loves to stay active and busy with many different things! I enjoy photography, playing and watching sports, running, spending time with family and friends, and going on adventures. Of course at times I love to relax, read, listen to music, journal, and watch movies. My pride and joy is my yellow Labrador pup; her name is Berkley. She is 3 years old and keeps me extremely busy! We love going on walks and runs together and spending time at the dock!:)

Ever since I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a teacher. I always enjoy helping others in need and helping them to reach their full potential. I am excited to share my 4th year of teaching with you here at Fairmont Elementary! Go Cardinals!:)
