Jim Buss - 6th Grade Science Teacher
About Me: This is my eighth year teaching Sixth Grade at Fairmont Elementary School, this is my first year teaching Social Studies/Minnesota History.
I have 20+ years experience working with middle and high school students in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas. I find this age group very exciting to teach as they expand on previous knowledge laid down in the Elementary grades.
My family moved back to Minnesota in 2012 to settle on the farm that has been in my wife's family for over 100 years, located on Long Lake outside of St. James, MN. My family consists of Linda, my wife, Stephanie, my daughter, and a menagerie of pets including a dog, cats and chickens.
I graduated from Claremont High School and from Concordia College - St. Paul, MN with a degree in Director of Christian Education. I received my teaching certification from Concordia University - Mequon, WI.
Over the years I have worked many jobs which allow me to bring a variety of life experiences into my daily teaching.
